This website is a lasting record of this exciting conference, which welcomed over 70 delegates to Manchester in September 2014. We exchanged work on exploring  the benefits and challenges of taking an ethnographically informed approach to researching language.  The best way to get an overall sense of the conference is to download our book of abstracts.

“The LEF conference was a superb event. Great papers and lots of people to stay in touch with.”  A typical comment from a delegate. EELC5-final-plenary

Plenary speakers were  Mariette de Haan, University of Utrecht and Fiona Copland, Aston University with Angela Creese, University of Birmingham.

The conference was organised by Sarah Collins, (University of Manchester) and Julia Gillen, Uta Papen and Karin Tusting (Lancaster University).

Our twitter account was @EELC5; we’ll keep it alive for a while to tweet further information about the Linguistic Ethnography Forum.
